QUESTION:
I forgot to mark the wires before I disconnected my White Rodgers thermostat so I have no idea where they were attached. I would think that most colors would match the beginning letter, however I have a blue wire and a tan wire that I can't figure our where they go. This model does have a C which the new thermostat instructions say not to install because it is battery operated. Help!

| ANSWER:
We don't have enough info to help you so rather than several correspondences, (is that a word?) I suggest you go to your furnace or air handler and look at where the wires go. You may luck out and find a terminal board with lettered terminals that go with your new stat my guess is you will be eliminating the blue wire because it is probably the common and the brown wire is likely either a second stage or emergency heat
