| HOMEOWNER CRIES FOR HELP... |
| posted: September 8th, 2008 - 2:04pm |
QUESTION:
My unit is leaking down the wall into the area where the wall filter is. This happens about twice a year. Technicians came out last time and said it's normal BUT, I can't believe that it's normal for an A/C to be leaking into your wall....I can't believe they are telling me that I have to be ok with water running down my wall. |
| ANSWER:
You have a drain issue obviously either the drain is plugged up regularly because you have a very dirty environment (pets, construction, remodeling) or it is not piped properly there should be a trap close to the unit creating a 2 inch drop in the line that prevents draw back by the negative pressure of the blower then the remaining drain line should have a fall of one quarter inch per foot to the outside of the home or to a floor drain. |
