| HOMEOWNER CRIES FOR HELP... |
| posted: September 8th, 2008 - 2:04pm |
QUESTION:
We recently ran 5 zones of AC and forced air through our house and for some reason, the kitchen vent occasionally sighs or breathes or something that sounds a lot like Darth Vadar taking a breath. This only happens in the kitchen, even though the zone includes several other rooms. Does anyone know a reason for this, and most important, if it can be fixed?

ANSWER:
If you just recently had the work done I would definitely call them back it sounds like an air leak or a gasket or loose piece of tape or damper partially closed. When you get anything in the airstream or allow the air to leak out of a small opening you can get a few very strange sounding noises, remember holding a blade of grass between your thumbs and blowing across it?
