| HOMEOWNER CRIES FOR HELP... |

QUESTION:
Any suggestions on thermostat locations. I have 2 units and both returns are in the 2nd floor ceiling. The return for the downstairs is located outside the master bedroom and the return for the upstairs is located about 12ft from the other return just mentioned. The downstairs t-stat is located on a wall where I have a 22ft ceiling and that wall gets constant sunlight from a huge window above door. Should I move it into a dining room which is on the opposite side where it is now. The t-stat on the 2nd floor is pretty close to the 2nd floor return. Any suggestions. |
| ANSWER:
If I understood you to say that your downstairs units thermostat is upstairs and your return is also upstairs you got problems and you can put that thermostat wherever you want but you are not going to be happy I hope I misunderstood you anyway as a rule your thermostat should be in a central location close to your return about 55 inches from the floor if your return is downstairs where it is supposed to be a living room wall with no direct sun light (interior would be ideal). |
