| HOMEOWNER CRIES FOR HELP... |

QUESTION:
My new HVAC system (Kenmore N4H4 and FSM4) has been installed 6 months ago by Sears. They also replaced my fuse box outside. Heat pump suddenly stopped spinning. As soon as I touched cover of fuse box, it started again. I turned off it's breaker on a breaker panel and then removed a fuse. It looks like, that fuse with copper ends sits inside of aluminum-based contacts. I cleaned up contacts (seems, it helped), but doubt, this is made right. I also checked, that all wires are tightly screwed to terminals inside of box - they were all ok. Is this a common practice using aluminum+copper in a fuse box ? Should I call Sears and get it replaced ?

ANSWER:
Nothing to worry about with the fuse box, that is not aluminum it is coated copper it sounds like you had a loose wire or the disconnect was not pushed in all the way. Make sure your disconnect device is seated properly and cannot fall out if so you are ok, if not you need to replace your disconnect.
