| HOMEOWNER CRIES FOR HELP... |

QUESTION:
We're in Clearwater, Fl. An AC repair guy just quoted us $525.00 to replace the fan, condenser motor and cap - is this normal?
|
ANSWER:
Prices vary by area in the mid states this fan, motor, condenser, etc. would cost you about $350 you might want to shop around. Remember a reputable company needs to pay not only wages but all the benefits for their employees, also they were not sitting in your driveway when your AC went out so they had to pay someone to drive to your house in a truck with parts on it. All that being said it sounds to me like you have one of the highest priced contractors in your area. If you shop around you should be able to get it repaired cheaper you just need to factor in convenience, (do they show up at your convenience or theirs?) Safety, (does your service tech look like Charles Mansons long lost brother?) Guarantees, (are they willing to stand behind their repair?) then you can worry about price.
