| HOMEOWNER CRIES FOR HELP... |
| posted: September 8th, 2008 - 2:04pm |
QUESTION:
Starting 2 weeks ago my unit was freezing up. So I changed the filters. That worked for about a week and a half and it started to freeze again. I called a repairman out and he put 8lbs of freon in it ($360 after it was all said and done). that was literally 2 hours ago that he left. It still is not working. he said to get a foam cleaner and clean the coil. I did that and it is still not working. My vents are blowing semi-cool air but not very much of it. |
| ANSWER:
That guy either robbed you or he did not know what he was doing the situation you described sounds like a system that may be slightly undercharged one pound maybe two at the most if he really put that much refrigerant in it you better shut it off, if this guy worked for a reputable company you need to call them back describe what happened and ask for someone else if they are straight up they will come back for nothing if this is a small company you may want to call someone else it sounds to me like you have airflow problems dirty coil or obstruction and he overcharged it trying to get the pressure right. |
